Cerice joined Red Mare in 2020, allowing her to go from full-time fully-stressed horse trainer to teaching and training part-time for a select group of clients. Like me, Cerice’s hardworking horse life was taking a real toll on her body and health by that point, and a change of pace was essential. By being open to making her own creative business model, she is having FUN again focusing on her own riding.  As a second-generation professional horsewoman, she grew up experiencing everything from training Icelandic horses to carriage horses to western and jumping sports. Her passion is horse and rider biomechanics. She’s lived and breathed the horse industry from the day she was born and has seen the best of it and the worst of it. I first collaborated with Cerice on a project called Equestrian Power, which focused on optimizing the rider’s Mind, Breath, Body & Passion for the sake of the horse. Since the beginning, we have shared a vision of improving lives for equestrian professionals and by extension, the horses we all love. Within Red Mare, Cerice’s specialty is strategy, systems, and taking action! She takes my vision and makes it happen. She is also a gifted teacher and communicator, breaking complex ideas into actionable steps.  Cerice also took to heart what we teach our clients here at Red Mare, which is to automate booking and billing. It changed her love for the horse business completely.  Cerice inspires me daily to think strategically about my business, stay focused on the important tasks, and to set clear and healthy boundaries. View in Web Browser Dear Blogger, We may have already met, but we’ve pivoted Red Mare Enterprises into specializing in helping horse pros build profitable businesses by incorporating automation and online video!  And since it might have been a while since we were last in touch, I thought it would be interesting to get to know us all better.  How about if I start with my story…then you can tell me yours? The Original Red Mare I started as a young freelance dressage trainer with a background rehabbing horses and a degree in design in Augusta, GA. I rode clients’ horses as a trainer and designed hundreds of websites, logos, and marketing materials for other pros “on the side.” I felt LUCKY to be able to combine my two passions, but it came at an increasingly high cost over the years.  I was working SO hard, but it wasn’t physically or mentally sustainable.  I hit a period of extreme burnout.  I began to suffer from chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. Finally, I accepted that I needed to take a step back, focus on my wellness, and bring my natural creativity to creating a more sustainable, more profitable business model. And I did!  Since 2008, Red Mare Enterprises has been helping equestrian professionals overcome the same roadblocks: burnout, lack of work-life balance, too few hours in the day, and an income ceiling that can’t be overcome working harder and longer. “I had been hustling since the age of 14 and simply didn’t know another way of being. Once you pull yourself out of a pit of despair, it’s unbearable to know others are still down there. You have to throw down a rope and share how you got out!” My super powers: Mastering time and energy  Claiming my role as VISIONARY within my business  Learning to accept help And rewriting my personal story about money, my limitations, and my abilities!
