Hey Blogger,
Are you promoting your skills as a horse pro as if you are a junk drawer?
We all have them… that drawer in the kitchen where we find SO MANY solutions! You can find chopsticks, sauce, string, glue, menus, chip clips, scrap paper, etc.!
But if I were to present my junk drawer to you for sale… It feels exactly like what the name implies… a bunch of junk.
When I'm dealing with a problem, I don't want to pay to sort through piles of solutions.
If I need hot sauce, please don't offer me a salt packet + rubber band + 5 different sauces.
I don't have time to waste, GIVE ME THE HOT SAUCE! Help me resolve my problem.
I know! I know! Your perspective, your skills, your ability to communicate, your resources… everything that makes you special and impactful doesn't feel like junk (and it's not!).
But that doesn't matter if you can't help me feel seen, acknowledge the pain I feel, or give me a sense of relief.
If you can't articulate my problem and how you solve it, how can I weigh my decision, discern the value of what you offer, and trust that you are the person I want to buy from??
How can I tell you apart from all the junk that's out there?
Let me give you an example from today's Mastery in the Making (aka office hours) call:
Today we dialed in to a student's desire to help horse businesses owners maintain long-term staff.
What a great mission!
This particular student has soooo much to offer struggling biz owners BUT she had trouble committing to a program AND putting the offer out there.
She was spending a lot of time THINKING about how to:
1. SIMPLIFY the millions of ideas she could make difference
2. PRESENT the material in a way that is attractive to her idea customer
3. CONVINCE horse businesses to prioritize a consistent staff experience …but she never actually DECIDED what she was going to offer and who she would offer it to.
So we got the BALL ROLLING and took time to engage in a decision making process.
Because here's the thing, she has solutions for a HUGE problem in our industry! I don't believe any of her potential clients NEED to be convinced that it's important to properly secure, train, and maintain staff.
What they DO NEED is clarity on how she makes it EASY to do!
This is what everyone needs = Clarity on how you solve their painful problems.
If you need help defining:
- The problem you solve
- Who you help
- How you deliver that solution
- A system for promoting your program
Let me help you make some decisions and discover the next BEST step for you, hop on a FREE call with me. I'm happy to point you in the right direction.
For the horse,
Catherine Respess
