Hi Blogger, You know me, I am passionate about helping horse pros succeed in their business and in life. That’s why I’m here today… I’m here for you. Each week you’ll get easy tips that you can take right into your business to be more successful and efficient so that you can have the life you’ve been wanting. Today, we’re starting with a doozy, because I’ll bet these sound familiar. … you’re ending your day feeling overworked and overwhelmed with no change in sight … you spend your day constantly checking your phone and messages … you have that vague, uneasy feeling that you’re supposed to be somewhere else … you consistently have more on your list than you can possibly get done This one is for you - Protect Your Time! Sounds great, you say! But, how? It’s so easy, you won’t believe how easy. And it’s free! A digital calendar. I use Google and I recommend it because it’s easy to integrate into other systems and automations. You’ll probably think I’m crazy, but I fell in love with my calendar when I made the switch from my paper agenda one to a digital calendar. It’s so much easier. Here’s how you can do it too. 1. Download Google Calendar (set up a gmail account, if you don’t already have one) 2. Create different ‘calendars’ for each category of your day, such as riding, lessons, family, personal. Give each one it’s own color. Watch all the fun google tutorials to see all you can do! 3. Start setting up your days and be sure to include personal time that energizes and refuels you! 4. Every Friday, review the next week and ‘lock’ your calendar. Having blocks for your personal time is critical to protecting your energy and ensuring that you are able to do all the other important tasks on your calendar. ***Don’t change your calendar during the current week. We all know that in a life with horses, you have to be flexible for emergencies, but don’t be too flexible. New tasks should be scheduled for the coming weeks, not the current one. Working with a new digital calendar will take practice, but trust me, it is worth it. And if you’ve known me a long time, you’ll remember how lost I was when I misplaced (and NEVER found) my paper calendar! It was also how I tracked my billing, ugh, and it was a hard lesson to learn. But, I have truly come to love and rely on my digital calendar and I never have to worry about losing it! I’d love to hear how you keep track of your busy life and what changes you’re making. To your success, Catherine and the team at Red Mare Enterprises |
